PharmD or not to PharmD in the Philippines

Labels:

Many questions have been raised if a B.S Pharmacy Graduate should take the Doctor of Pharmacy Program..

Here's one of the reason why you should take the Doctor of Pharmacy Program

Doctor of Pharmacy program now on its 4th year of offering at CEU Makati. Two batches have graduated already. Graduates of Pharm D. Are now working at Makati Medical Center, St Lukes Hospital, Saudi Arabia, Canada, and Singapore. Hospital clerkships are done at Makati Medical Center while the drugstore clerkships are done at Manson Drugstore Inc.

A ladderized 6 yr course leading to Doctor of Pharmacy and 4 yr course leading to Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy is offered effective first semester SY 2008-2009. A student can opt to finish only BS Pharmacy or go directly and finished the Doctor of Pharmacy.

This is a good news because of you finished Doctor of Pharmacy in six straight years, you can now take the FPGEE. Yes you heard it right, NABP allows foreign pharmacy graduates to take FPGEE as long as the you graduated before 2003 and 5 years after 2003. So in summary, you can have your degree in 6 straight years in doctor of pharmacy and take the FPGEE.
