MANILA, Philippines—The Department of Health’s ban on China-made milk and milk-based products that tested positive for melamine remains in effect.
Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said on Thursday that unless a product has been cleared by the Bureau of Food and Drugs to be melamine-free, the ban would apply.
"Consumers will stay away" from China-made milk products anyway even if the BFAD has not tested them and is still getting information from China about other melamine-contaminated products, according to Duque.
